    americastestkitchen:

Dinner with Ferran Adrià? It’ll Cost You at Least $5,000: Ferran Adrià, the mega-star chef behind the late, great Spanish restaurant elBulli, is the most interesting dinner guest in the world. At least, we’re assuming he has to be, considering that Sotheby’s is auctioning off a dinner with him…

Sometimes people send me weird screen caps of my face as if that will embarrass me, and it never does. BEHOLD MY WEIRD FACES, INTERNET.

  • America's Test Kitchen: Highlights from Anthony Bourdain’s “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit:...

    americastestkitchen:

Highlights from Anthony Bourdain’s “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit: Anthony Bourdain was on Reddit yesterday asking any questions readers threw at him (without reservations, har har). Grub Street thankfully put together a post of his best answers, because scrolling through Reddit’s interface (for…

I write articles, I speak on the radio. I’m also a middle child. So perhaps it comes as no surprise that last year, I decided to add a feather to my cap, leaping into the waves of video production.

What lies above is what happened one morning as I paid a visit to my old boss (and favorite pastry queen), Christina Tosi, over at Momofuku Milk Bar. More specifically, the Momofuku Milk Bar commissary space, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (the Batman cave of all Milk Bar pastry production.)

Essentially, this is my video version of bring your daughter to work day, only it’s bring your former employee to work day.

Filmed by the immensely gifted Ben Richardson (the cinematographer behind, “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” who also just swept the Indie Spirit awards for Best Cinematographer) and produced by Josh Hetzler Productions, to say that I’m a lucky gal is an understatement.

This video wouldn’t have happened without the unstoppable Director, Mollye Asher, editing beast Elin Gronblom, all around visual wizard, Zoe Shack, sound boss Laura Sinnott, Associate Producer Becky Nordensten, stylist Aly Barohn, Creative Consultant Anna Margaret Hollyman, and drawing wizard Mary Hollyman.

Herewith, an insider’s glimpse into what happens in a typical day at one of the most popular pastry palaces in the entire universe. If you’re on a sugar detox, this is rated R for your eyeballs.

Let this be a lesson to you, kids: never, ever, ever share an opinion about anything on your own little hunk of Internet, because you’ll get the dreaded TUMBLR UNFOLLOW and then what happens?!
WHAT HAPPENS THEN?! I DON’T KNOW WHY ARE WE YELLING.

You know, there’s a lot of opinions that Wil has that I don’t agree with, there are some things that I totally understand and other things he says that sometimes make me want to kick puppies.
Having said that though, isn’t that one of the things about the country that we (As a fellow American) live in? That was can have differing opinions and still hold civil discourse?
